You don't need a big reason to start.
(Feeling stuck counts.)Does any of this sound familiar?
Tap anything that fits. Nothing is saved or sent anywhere. This part is just for you.
Nothing tapped yet. That's okay too.
You tapped .
That's a lot to carry on your own. None of it means you're failing, and all of it is welcome in therapy.
Struggling doesn't always look like struggling.
Sometimes it looks like the everyday stuff. Tap a card to see what might be underneath.
Before you keep reading, take one breath with us.
In for four, out for six. Stop whenever you want. There's no wrong way to do this.

Feeling better starts in the body.
When you're running on stress, low energy, or pain, insight alone rarely sticks. So we start by helping your body feel a little steadier, then build skills that actually fit your life.
Step 1
Find steadier ground
Somatic tools help you notice what your body is telling you and come down from high alert, whether that shows up as worry, exhaustion, or pain.
Step 2
Untangle the stuck thoughts
CBT and Cognitive Processing Therapy help you spot the patterns keeping you stuck, like "I should be handling this better" or "nothing is going to change."
Step 3
Make it stick in real life
Relational work on boundaries, connection, and what you actually want, so progress shows up outside of session too.
What working with us feels like
Therapy works best when it feels like a real relationship, not an appointment you dread. Here's what you can count on.
At your pace
No timeline to hit and no box to fit into. You set the speed, and your therapist checks in often about how it's all feeling.
You're the expert
Your therapist brings training in anxiety, depression, trauma, and chronic illness. You bring your life. Sessions are a collaboration, never a lecture.
Gently challenging
Support doesn't mean just nodding along. When you're ready, your therapist will kindly nudge you toward what's next.
No surprises
You'll know what each session is for and where things are headed. Questions are always welcome, including the awkward ones.
Always welcome back
Life gets busy, and progress isn't a straight line. If you step away for a while, the door stays open.

Little reminders, in case you need them
Why Empower Wellness is private pay
Paying out of pocket is a real investment. Here's what it gets you, and how superbills can help you get some of it back.
- A diagnosis is required just to start, and it becomes part of your insurance record.
- Your plan can limit how many sessions you get or which approaches are covered.
- Treatment has to keep proving it's "medically necessary."
- You're limited to therapists in your plan's network.
- You and your therapist decide what therapy looks like, together.
- Nothing is shared with an insurer unless you choose to submit a superbill.
- Session frequency fits your life and your nervous system, not a policy.
- You get specialized trauma care, whether or not we're in your network.
3 questions to ask your insurance
- Do I have out-of-network mental health benefits?
- Have I met my out-of-network deductible this year?
- What percentage do you reimburse for CPT code 90837?
Superbills include a diagnosis code, which insurers need for reimbursement. Reimbursement isn't guaranteed and depends on your plan.
Getting started is simpler than you think.
Three small steps, and you'll know exactly what happens at each one.
Step 1
Fill out the short form
About two minutes. Share as much or as little as you'd like.
Step 2
Have a free 15-minute call
Ask anything, get a feel for how we work, and see if it's a fit. No pressure to book.
Step 3
Start from your couch
Your first session happens online, from wherever you feel most at ease in Ohio.
You'll always know what's coming next.
Questions people often ask
Still wondering about something? Ask it on the form and our team will answer it personally.
Ask your questionDo I need a diagnosis or a clear reason to start therapy?
No. Plenty of people start with "something feels off" or "I'm just tired of feeling this way." Figuring out the rest is part of the work.
What happens in the first session?
Mostly getting to know each other. Your therapist will ask what brings you in, what you're hoping for, and how you like to work. You only share what feels okay.
Can I work on more than one thing at a time?
Yes. Anxiety, depression, trauma, and chronic illness often overlap, so therapy here looks at the whole picture instead of one label at a time.
How often will we meet, and for how long?
You and your therapist decide that together, based on your needs and your schedule. There's no set number of sessions, and you'll check in on progress along the way.
Does online therapy work as well as in person?
For many people, yes. Being in your own space can make it easier to relax and open up. On your free call, you can talk through whether online therapy feels right for you.
Who do you work with?
Adults 18 and older who live in Ohio, in individual therapy. Empower Wellness has a special focus on the LGBTQ+ community and on people living with trauma, chronic illness, anxiety, and depression.
Do you take insurance?
Empower Wellness is private pay and provides superbills, which you can submit to your insurance for possible out-of-network reimbursement. Check with your plan about your benefits.
What if I stop therapy and want to come back later?
You're always welcome back. Life happens, and progress isn't a straight line. Just reach out when you're ready.
