What's bringing you here?

Pick whatever feels closest. There's no wrong answer, and you don't have to fit neatly into one box.

Anxiety

When your mind won't stop bracing for what's next

Racing thoughts, a tight chest, a to-do list that never ends. We'll help you understand what your nervous system is guarding against, and give it new ways to settle.

Depression

When everything feels heavy, or nothing feels like much

Low energy, lost interest, getting through the day on autopilot. Together we'll find small steps that feel doable, at a pace that respects how tired you are.

Trauma

When the past keeps showing up in the present

Big events or slow-building ones can leave your body on high alert. We start by helping you feel safer, then make room for the story, only when you're ready.

Living with chronic illness

When your body and your life don't always cooperate

Chronic illness isn't just a medical experience. It can bring grief, identity shifts, and the exhaustion of always advocating for yourself. You deserve care that gets that.

LGBTQ+ identity

When you want a therapist you don't have to explain yourself to

As an LGBTQ+ owned practice, we offer affirming care for every identity, relationship, and stage of figuring it out. No educating your therapist required.

I'm not sure yet

When something feels off, and you can't quite name it

You don't need a label to deserve support. Many people come to us knowing only that they want things to feel different. We'll figure it out together.

How we work

Whatever brings you in, therapy here is relational and body-first. We pull from a few proven approaches and shape them around you, not the other way around.

  • Body first, then the story

When your body is stuck on high alert, insight alone rarely sticks. We start by helping your nervous system settle, then bring in skills.

  • You're the expert on you

We know a lot about therapy. You know your life. Sessions are a collaboration, never a lecture.

  • At your pace

No timelines to hit. We go as fast or as slow as you need, and we'll gently challenge you when you're ready.

  • Always welcome back

Healing isn't linear. If you step away for a while, the door stays open. You're never forgotten here.

Approaches we draw from:
  • Somatic therapy
  • Cognitive Processing Therapy
  • CBT
  • Relational therapy
  • Integrative care

Grounded in our values

  • CommunityHealing doesn't happen in isolation. We help you feel connected to yourself and your people.
  • Social justiceCare should be accessible, inclusive, and affirming, and we name how inequity affects mental health.
  • TransparencyYou'll always know what to expect, and your questions are always welcome.
More about Empower Wellness

Some sessions are breakthroughs. Some days, you just come in and cry. Both count.

(We'll have tissues. Virtually.)

Not ready yet? That's okay.

Step away whenever you need to. The door stays open, and you can set a gentle reminder to check back in.

Remind me to check back in:

We don't see or store this. It goes straight to your own calendar.

About Empower Wellness

A small practice with plenty of room for all of you.

Empower Wellness is a small, LGBTQ+ owned practice serving adults across Ohio. We specialize in anxiety, depression, trauma, and chronic illness, and we know these rarely show up one at a time.

Our founder, Jordan Allen, LISW, built the practice around the kind of care that can be hard to find: transparent, unhurried, and grounded in the body as much as the mind. Every session happens over secure, HIPAA-compliant video, so you can show up from your couch, your car, or wherever feels safest.

What therapy here feels like

Therapy works best when it feels like a real relationship. Here's what you can count on, whatever brings you in.

At your pace

There's no timeline you have to hit. We go as fast or as slow as your body allows, with regular check-ins on how it's all feeling.

You're the expert

Your therapist knows a lot about mental health. You know your life. Sessions are a collaboration, never a lecture.

Gently challenging

Support doesn't mean just nodding along. When you're ready, we'll kindly nudge you toward the next step.

No surprises

You'll know what each session is for and what's coming next. Being transparent is part of feeling safe.

Humor welcome

Therapy can hold hard things and still have room to laugh. Bring your whole personality, jokes included.

Why we're private pay

Paying out of pocket is a real investment. Here's what it gets you, and how you may be able to get some of it back.

What's a superbill?

A detailed receipt we provide after sessions. You can submit it to your insurance for possible out-of-network reimbursement, depending on your plan.

  • A diagnosis is required just to start, and it becomes part of your insurance record.
  • Your plan can limit how many sessions you get or which approaches are covered.
  • Treatment has to keep proving it's "medically necessary."
  • You're limited to therapists in your plan's network.
  • You and your therapist decide what therapy looks like, together.
  • Nothing is shared with an insurer unless you choose to submit a superbill.
  • Session frequency fits your life, not a policy.
  • You can work with the therapist who's the right fit, whether or not we're in your network.
3 questions to ask your insurance
  1. Do I have out-of-network mental health benefits?
  2. Have I met my out-of-network deductible this year?
  3. What percentage do you reimburse for CPT code 90837?

Superbills include a diagnosis code, which insurers need for reimbursement. Reimbursement isn't guaranteed and depends on your plan.
